ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Kelly and I live in Aberdeenshire in the North East of Scotland. The idea behind 'the adventure tonic' evolved after years of enjoying the great outdoors and travelling all over Scotland. There is so much beauty on my doorstep and I have always loved walking, exploring and discovering new destinations.

It was only recently that I branched out and tried other adventure activities after years of being held back by anxiety and fear, and I’m finding that the more I try, the more confident I feel.  I’m embracing my new approach to getting out there and giving things a go; from wild swimming and stand-up paddleboarding to wild camping and Munro bagging.  I feel strongly that adventuring is for everyone, and comes in many forms, and I love the feeling I get when I push myself to try something new.  It would be great to encourage others to do the same, all whilst exploring this beautiful country.

I'm fascinated by people and places, and how people engage with their surroundings - with particular interests in conservation, sustainable tourism and slow travel.  I’ve been inspired by so many people I’ve met recently or followed online, and I also love writing and taking photos - so starting a blog seemed like a good place to share this further.  I intend to keep venturing out of my comfort zone and saying yes to new adventures that come along – and I hope you’ll join me.  I would encourage you all to come and visit Scotland, and I'll aim to share some practical tips where I can.  Do get in touch if I can help, or if you have any adventure ideas for me.
