There's something about finishing work early, jumping in the car and making the most of a summer evening outdoors. I recently did this with my friend, and fellow wild swimming enthusiast, Cheryl. We don't live too far from each other, so decided to head further out Deeside and go for a walk and a swim at Loch Kinord, near Dinnet in Aberdeenshire. The loch was nice and mild so we stayed in for a good 45 minutes to an hour, mainly paddling about and doing a bit of swimming too. It was so calm and relaxing. I took my Kelly Kettle (a Christmas present!) that I hadn't used yet, and it seemed like the perfect chance to try it out for a post swim cuppa. It was good fun, and so nice to have freshly boiled water. We had a little picnic tea too by the side of the loch and it was such a nice peaceful way to end a Thursday work day. We've agreed that we need to go on more midweek mini adventures! There is also a great circular walk you can do around the loch, which you can find out more about here.
